In case you missed it, FiLMLaB debuted its 2016 short film, INTERCEPT, at the Willamette Writers Conference earlier this month. We were pleased to have good turn out and an enthusiastic Q & A with the audience. But if you couldn’t make it to the debut, fear not, because this week FiLMLaB heads to the Portland Film Festival.
#PDXFF16 kicks off today, August 29th with a Film Industry Speed Networking event and runs through the Labor Day Weekend. All films and classes are centered around the Laurelhurst Theater and neighborhood, and that’s where you’ll find Willamette Writers and FiLMLAB.
Friday, September 2, catch INTERCEPT, in Shorts Block 10: Lenses (6:00 pm). Directed by Randall Jahnson, it features the talented Ted Rooney as a man haunted by his past and obsessed with correcting it.
If Friday doesn’t work for you, join us Saturday, September 3rd at 4:00 pm when it screens once more during Screenwriting: The FiLMLaB Project: INTERCEPT. On hand for the panel discussion will be 2016 FiLMLaB winning writer, Shaun Radecki; Randall Jahnson (director), Christopher Alley (director of photography), yours truly and, fingers crossed, Ted Rooney. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Willamette Writers and FiLMLaB and how you could become the next winner in the FiLMLaB Project!
Then head over to Migration Brewing at 6:00 pm where Willamette Writers will be co-hosting the Celebrate Screenwriters Networking Party. Grab a pint and relax, meet up with friends and make some new ones. We hope to see you there and celebrate your screenwriting and your creative ambitions before we head out to more Portland Film Festival movies!
