Hybrid Eugene and Southern Oregon: Diverse Characters with Diana Nadeau
February 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Creating Diverse Characters with Integrity with Diana Nadeau
Character development is key to great writing. And honoring diversity is key to life. So, how do we put the two together and enter into creating characters that represent diverse communities with integrity and without causing harm to those very same community members?
We do it with an understanding of social location, individual experiences, and cultural humility.
Author and Equity-informed Mediator, Diana Nadeau comes from a strong background in writing, mediation, facilitation, consultation, and training within the frame of equity and inclusion. With lived experience as a non-binary, neurodivergent, Arab-American, Diana will share key factors to creating diverse characters as informed, respectful, and integrous authors.
Join the Eugene chapter of Willamette Writers, with support of the Southern Oregon Chapter, on Tuesday, Feb 28 from 6-7:45 pm in partnership with the Eugene Public Library.
This event is free and open to the public, available in person at Downtown Eugene Public Library, 100 W 10th Ave, and online.
