Hybrid Hillsboro: Incorporating Your Cultural Roots into Your Writing

April 11, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Willamette Writers Hillsboro Presents

Hillsboro

Incorporating Your Cultural Roots into Your Writing with Katherine Quevedo

We each have cultural influences we bring to our writing, whether consciously or not. By tapping into these facets with intentionality, you can make your writing more personal and creative. We will talk about generating fresh ideas, subverting expectations, and avoiding getting pigeonholed. We will touch on inclusive ways to look at cultures, such as subcultures and microcultures, and mix your influences. Come ready to delve into how your cultural roots can help your work stand out from the pack and resonate with readers in a whole new way.

We meet at the Hillsboro Brookwood Library and online on April 11, 2023. Doors open at 6 pm. The meeting is 6:30-7:30 pm. This is a hybrid meeting so if you’d like to join us via Zoom, please read Zoom Details below and then register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAtcO2qqj0oE9wh2aOX-ZPVeFO8oO0uk5x5
