September 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Vancouver Chapter Banner

What Have You Been Writing This Summer? We Want to Hear You Share!

The Vancouver Chapter is excited to invite you for a fun night of open mic sharing, goal setting, snacks, and getting to know other local writers. We’ve got some fabulous events planned for the year and can’t wait to share them with you! And we can’t wait to hear what you have been up to, and how we can support you wherever you are on your writing journey. This is a night for dreaming, plotting, and celebrating the writing life. We hope you can join us!

** As part of our goal setting segment, we welcome you to bring 3 writing tools or resources to share.

We’ll be meeting Monday, September 9th from 6-8pm at the Three Creeks Library in Vancouver. The doors open 6:00, and the meeting starts at 6:15pm.

This meeting will be in-person only. We will open to hybrid in October.

Open Mic Guidelines:

We invite you to choose an excerpt from your work or work-in-progress to share with the group. Please aim for about 750 words (5 minutes) so we can hear as many excerpts as possible. A limited number of sign ups will be at the door when it opens. Depending on how many readers we have, we’ll add another couple minutes for questions/comments. All genres are welcome; family-friendly work please, no graphic violence, sex, or hate speech.

Local Author Spotlight Come learn about our new Vancouver chapter feature, the author spotlight! Each month selected Vancouver Chapter writers will have a chance to share about themselves and their work.

Refreshments

Willamette Writers will provide coffee, tea, and cookies. If you’d like, we welcome you to bring a favorite snack to share. This is completely optional.

We’ll see you on September 9!
