Steven Mayfield is a past recipient of the Mari Sandoz Prize for Fiction and author of the upcoming novel, Treasure of the Blue Whale (Regal House Publishing, Spring 2020). His short fiction has appeared in Event, The Black River Review, cold-drill, artisan, The Long Story, and the anthology From Eulogy to Joy. His collection of short stories, Howling at the Moon, was a Best Books selection by USA Book News and a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Pam, and their three dogs, Humphrey, Posey, and Rupert. He can order beer in four languages. His wife can say, “Pay no attention to this man” in five.
