Ruby Lee Cornelius will be signing books at booth 64 at the Portland Book Festival on November 9th. Ruby Lee Cornelius is a mother, grandmother and business owner. She is a lifetime musician and singer, and is recently dappling in the art of songwriting. Raised in a Wisconsin working-class family, she currently resides in the Pacific Northwest. For the past many years, Ruby has been researching and writing on the topic of adoption, focusing on the ever-changing relationships and feelings in the adoption triangle.

This memoir details the events and emotional struggles surrounding the author’s teen pregnancy in the 1970’s Midwest. Shunned for her interracial relationship and her out-of-wedlock pregnancy, Ruby ends up against her will in the “the home.” Spanning more than four decades, she shares a journey of motherhood lost and gained.
