Willamette Writers Author Signing Marilyn Catherine McDonald, ma -

Marilyn Catherine McDonald will be signing books at booth 64 at the Portland Book Festival on November 9th. Marilyn has been a professional writer since 1967. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees while freelancing and raising eight children. Then, as a single parent she returned to the work force or the first time in 25 years and climbed the corporate ladder. She worked in the fields of corporate communications, advertising, public relations and publications. She served as an officer in several organizations, and volunteered as a suicide crisis hotline counselor, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children, and a recovery counselor to women in prison. At 86, she has several projects in progress.

Marilyn merely scratches the surface of a lifetime of travel at home and abroad. She shares experiences adapted from ten years of publishing travel articles in newspapers and magazines, and five years of columns, under the same title as the book, from the Central Oregon Newberry Eagle.
