C. Steven Blue Poetry & Art Showcase (& Open Mic)
Saturday, October 18th, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Eugene Public Library
This is an exciting poetry event. Eugene poet C. Steven Blue gathers some of Oregon’s most renowned poets for this annual event, along with new poets and artwork by local artists.
You will be entertained by the exciting talents of Literary Poets, Performance Poets, Slam Poets and a Poetry Open Mic to top it off. Three of Eugene’s finest artists will be displaying and selling their artwork. Bring something to read at the open mic or just sit and enjoy the afternoon’s presentations. Three minute time slots are available for the open mic reading on a first come, first served basis. Sign-up starts at 1:00 pm. Refreshments provided, along with gourmet coffee, tea and herbal tea.
The poets who will be featured at this year’s showcase are:
Quinton Hallett, Nancy Carol Moody, Laura LeHew, Joan Dobbie, Howard Robertson, Michele Graf, Rachel Rich, Kit Chell, Michael Hess, Andrew Gonzalez, Candace Renee Perkins, Joe Cronin and C. Steven Blue.
Also, three fine Eugene artists will be represented this year:
Ellen Gabehart: Known for her wonderful watercolor paintings of local landscapes, musicians and more. Ellen has done sketches live at our last two showcases, sketching our poets as they read. She has consented to do so again this year. She will also have some of her work on display and for sale.
Judy Hayden: Photography artist, her amazing photo art pieces are fantastic and well loved. Many look more like paintings than photographs.
Steve LaRiccia: Multi-talented artist and coordinator of New Zone Gallery, Steve’s Steamworks art sculptures are like nothing else you have ever seen (Pioneering Steampunk art!).
