You Don’t Say: Stories, Poems & a Few Surprises is the latest book by award-winning author Steve Theme. When asked to speak bout the book, Steve responded that “Hodgepodge is a real word. Yet it still doesn’t seem dignified enough to belong in a dictionary. However, this book is a hodgepodge of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, humor, horror and a few things you wouldn’t expect.”
The pieces are excerpted from Steve Theme’s life and were written between 1979 and 2022. They were never intended as an anthology, yet here they are. Some stories have been previously published nationally, while others are seeing their first light of day. To quote Steve directly on why you should read this book, “…You’ll come away with a wider appreciation for humanity, be more available to others, and smell better.”
The launch event will be Saturday evening, March 4th, 7:30, at 11695 SW Park Way, Portland (the round church). Reading, music, & light snacks. There will also be copies of Asphalt Asylum, or bring yours to be signed! All proceeds will be donated to the Young Willamette Writers — To quote Steve, “Now you gotta go.”
