Lady of the Play

Lady of the Play, a new historical novel by Deena Lindstedt, was published by Wings ePress and became available on October 5, 2021.

Lady of the Play is the untold story of the other Shakespeare, Elizabeth Trentham. Her secret life is revealed from her childhood in Staffordshire, England, to the ten years she was maid of honor to Queen Elizabeth I, to her marriage to Edward deVere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, and why they hired Wm. Shakespeare to take credit for their plays.

When Edward dies in 1604, Elizabeth continues to write plays until her death in 1612, the same year Shakspeare retired to his home in Stratford upon Avon. Interwoven is a modern story of a researcher who searches for evidence to prove Edward and Elizabeth were collaborators.
