Author Janet Fisher announces the sale of her book, entitled Martha: A Pioneer Woman’s Journey to a Place of Her Own. The book is a history of Fisher’s great-great-grandmother who came out to the Oregon Territory, first to Lane County, then Douglas County, where she made the daring decision to buy a farm after the death of her husband.

In 2009 Fisher moved from Cottage Grove to this family farm, taking ownership of what her grandmother bought over 150 years ago.

Fisher’s agent, Rita Rosenkranz, recently closed the deal with Globe Pequot Press. Martha will be released around June 1, 2014.
