Hey there! There’s still time to enter this year’s FiLMLaB Script-to-Film contest.

Congrats to all who have already entered this year’s FiLMLaB contest. Reach around right now and pat yourself on the back. You rock! To all those who haven’t entered yet–there’s still time! I sent in my script (via email) last year at 11:50pm on the day of the deadline.

 Not that I procrastinated.

I’d written this, that, AND the other thing, but I knew none of the efforts were quite right for FiLMLaB. (I mean, one of them included telepathically controlled robots. On Mars. Hint: Don’t send that one in. Keep writing till you hit on something fundable.) Usually all I really need is a deadline, but that wasn’t enough. Nope, only the fear of wasted money would propel me across the finish line. So on the last day of the contest, I mailed my entrance fee and went home from the day job a couple of hours early. I’d have to email whatever I came up with by

Do you need more incentive? The winning script will be produced. The writer gets a pass to the awesome Willamette Writers Conference. Excited yet? AND … the third judge (there are five), will be Mary Cybriwsky, Literary Manager at Scooty Woop. Cue screaming fans! Who will the others be?

Go now. Get an envelop, a stamp, dust off your checkbook (which you hardly ever use anymore because, hello, Pay Pal.) Put your entrance fee in the snail mail RIGHT NOW.

And be ready to hit send by midnight Friday. If you do, you could find your own script being Freshly Brewed into the next FiLMLaB production.

Cheers!

Haley
