Please join us online for our Young Willamette Writers meeting this January 8, 2022, at 10 AM with playwright and performing artist Katie Bennett. Our Young Willamette Writers meetings are always free.  We meet the first Saturday of the month, September to June (unless otherwise indicated).  Any high school or middle-grade writers are welcome to join us. About Katie Bennett

Katie Bennett is a performing artist who lives in Seaside, Oregon. The Portland playwriting group, PDX Playwrights, has produced several of her plays, most recently Tru Adoration, which will be part of the Fertile Ground Theatre Festival 2022. Her short screenplay Bird in the Water won first place at the 45th Northwest Filmmaker’s Festival’s Northwest Exposure Competition in 2018. She received Honorable Mention in the Willamette Writers Kay Snow Awards in 2021 for her screenplay, Traditions. Katie has taught locally in public schools and as an adjunct professor at Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College. She is also an actor and a director. Katie is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with an MFA in Theatre from the University of South Carolina.
