 September Meet & Greet

Welcome back, Southern Oregon Willamette Writers!

Join us for a free, hybrid in-person/virtual meet and greet beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23 at the Josephine Community Library in Grants Pass.

Our local chapter is reestablishing itself, and writers of all ages and experience levels from all over Southern Oregon are encouraged to attend. As those who’ve participated in the past already know, our organization’s mission remains to help writers connect with their community, develop their craft, and advance their careers. If you are a local writer interested in these pursuits, we want to meet you.

Everyone will have the chance to introduce themselves and tell us a bit about your writing life. You can also learn more about what Willamette Writers has to offer and the opportunities to serve and be served by the organization. As our focus for September will be reestablishing and rebuilding our area chapter, there will be no speaker for this meeting.

However, Kate Ristau, executive director of Willamette Writers will be joining us along with a few other special guests from H.Q. and some previous Southern Oregon leadership. Along with some other changes, ALL Willamette Writers chapter meetings are now free and open to the public. So, whether you’ve participated for years or are hearing about the organization for the first time, we hope to see you (in person or virtually) on Saturday, September 23 at the Josephine Community Library in Grants Pass.

About Your Chapter Meeting

Willamette Writers meetings are free and open to all writers, 18 and up. Writers are welcome to make a donation to help support the cost of the meeting (we believe in paying our speakers for their time and skills). This meeting is run by volunteers. We look forward to seeing you there!

Young writers are encouraged to join our Young Willamette Writers meetings. Sign Up! Any high school or middle-grade writers are welcome to join us. Sign up for our email list at: http://eepurl.com/hRubBf. A registration link will be sent to our email list before our next meeting.

Wellness 

Willamette Writers continues to encourage mask-wearing at our in-person, indoor meetings. If you feel sick, please stay home and join us at one of our online Chapter Meetings.

Once you are logged in to your own personal Zoom account, register for the meeting in the link provided above.

On the day of the meeting, log into your Zoom account and then click the link Zoom sent you in your email when you registered with the link above. If you have not done this before, we encourage you to try logging in a half hour before the meeting begins. We had to change our meeting access because of a few inappropriate guests, but we want to continue to keep our meetings open to the public.
