Online: Screenwriter’s Happy Hour with Howard L. GATO Mitchell
November 13 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Event Navigation
Born in Panama and working under the pseudonym Howard L. GATO Mitchell, his work challenges mainstream narratives and pushes creative boundaries. Influenced by European cinema, his films are characterized by brooding minimalism and a keen attention to graphic composition, stemming from his training as a painter. His approach to imagery is both formalistic and human, emphasizing story in equal measure to atmosphere and visual punctuation. As an independent, multidisciplinary artist, he seeks to examine the fire beneath the ice of humanity. Currently, he’s collaborating with a production team from LA and abroad, to develop a feature thriller noir set in Portland. Additionally, he’s writing a book about an orphaned Afro-Dominican girl with unique, untapped gifts and surrounded by mysterious nuns in her orphanage.
