Online Salem & Vancouver: Writing without an Outline with Michael La Ronn

January 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Salem Chapter Header

This meeting is online only.

Writing a book without an outline isn’t easy, but it is the right path for some writers. If you’ve ever wondered about “pantsing” and how to write a story when you have no idea what happens next, then you’ve come to the right place. On January 6 from 11AM-12PM PT (Zoom meeting opens at 10:55AM), join your Salem and Vancouver Chapter as we welcome prolific author Michael La Ronn. He will cover his methods for pantsing (also known as discovery writing and writing into the dark). He’ll cover the top tips he’s learned after writing over 30 novels without an outline. If pantsing is for you, you’ll leave the talk with a game plan on how to proceed and you’ll know exactly what to do when you get stuck.

About Michael La Ronn

Michael La Ron Author PhotoMichael La Ronn is the author of over 80 published books, ranging from guides and practical advice books for writers to epic Sci-Fi and Fantasy series. As an avid storyteller since he was a child, Michael has always loved writing stories of the underdog who emerge from their troubles as better and stronger people, and he’s carried that lesson into his life. To quote Michael directly, “No matter what I’m writing, I always stick to my manifesto. ‘Whatever you’re reading, whether it’s sci-fi or fantasy, you’re going to get a unique character trying to make their way in a world where they’re different and no one understands them. They become the best possible versions of themselves in spite of it all, just like I have in my own life, just like I want for you in your life, too.'”

In 2012, a life-threatening illness made him realize that life is too short. He’s devoted his life to writing ever since, making up whatever story makes him fall out of his chair laughing the hardest. Every day.

You can explore the incredible universes Michael has created and get to know more about Michael himself on his website MichaelLaRonn.Com as well as find plenty of invaluable writing advice on his YouTube channel Author Level Up.
