The Vancouver Chapter is excited to invite you for a fun night of open mic sharing, snacks, and getting to know other local writers. It’s our final meeting before our summer break (we’ll be back in September)—and what better way to celebrate words than by listening to other writers reading their work, sharing some of your own, all accompanied by yummy goodies and coffee?
When/Where:
We’ll be meeting on Monday June 10th from 6-8pm at the Three Creeks Library in Vancouver. The doors open 6:00, and the meeting starts 6:15pm.
Open Mic Guidelines:
We invite you to choose an excerpt from your work or work-in-progress to share with the group. Please aim for about 750 words (5 minutes) so we can hear as many excerpts as possible. Sign ups will be at the door when it opens. Depending on how many readers we have, we’ll add another couple minutes for questions/comments. We’d love to hear the story of your story! All genres are welcome; family-friendly work, no graphic violence, sex, or hate speech.
Refreshments:
Willamette Writers will provide coffee, tea, and cookies. If you’d like, we welcome you to bring a favorite snack to share. This is completely optional.
