We can say that not all critiques are created equal. But that’s easily forgotten when “trolls” storm the bridge of our creativity. Join us at the Hillsboro Brookwood Library on October 8 from 6:30 – 7:45 (doors open at 6 PM) as we cover how to start your own Read & Critique Group, how to provide useful observations for your fellow writers, and how to quantify the feedback you’re already getting.
Participants are encouraged to bring 1,000 words or less of their writing, ANY genre, and be prepared to read it aloud for the group.
About J. Komp
J. Komp, of Just Key Edits, has been taking apart stories, to explain why we love or hate them, for over 30 years. A Behavioral Science major, that found her voice after a decade of live theater productions, Jennie lives for stories that are as entertaining and consumable as they are transformative. Her development editing focuses on the connection between a book and its potential audience, emphasizing the tangible elements that bring a story into a reader’s everyday life and reveal our relationship with the extraordinary.
