Willamette Writers Hillsboro Chapter Presents
Beginnings with Linda Needham
“Where Do I Begin?” you ask. That’s always an author’s first question, whether it’s coming up with an idea or theme to write about, or plotting and organizing their story, or knowing where in the storyline to start Chapter One. There are many places to begin. Join us this September 12th, doors open at 6:15 PM, with Linda Needham at the Brookwood Public Library and online to explore beginnings. This meeting is online and in person. Please read Zoom Details below and then register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUvfuGoqjIsHdHc9MS93TVJQIlHrn7Jlm7k
About Linda Needham
USA Today bestselling author Linda Needham began her journey on the road to romance writing in 1972 with an overcooked Thanksgiving turkey and her nose buried in a delicious copy of Kathleen Woodiwiss’s first novel, THE FLAME AND THE FLOWER. Reading has always been one of her favorite obsessions, but Woodiwiss had, for the first time fused the sweeping majesty of history with the sensual power of romance, and from that moment the romance novel industry went into high gear and was changed forever. Linda moved beyond that inspirational beginning by writing her own works: ten historical romance novels, seven full-length musicals, and two stage plays.
Her latest book is Brainstorming Your Novel: From the First Spark to Blockbuster.
November is NaNoWriMo, the annual National November Writing Month, in which we are challenged to write a novel in a month (at least a “shitty first draft,” to borrow Anne Lamott’s phraseology for it). No time like the present to start planning.
Join us this September as we explore beginnings.
