YWW Southern: Jadie Jones on Villains

March 12, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Young Willamette Writers In-Person in Southern Oregon and Online!

It’s Not Just the Hero’s Journey: How to Craft a Villain to Believe In – Casey Dunn (pen name: Jadie Jones)

It takes two to tango. In the same way, it also takes two to drive a story: your protagonist, and what – often who – they’re up against in pursuit of their goal. This presentation by Casey Dunn will explore the importance of the antagonist’s role in plot and character development, and why it’s often harder – and crucial for your story as a whole – to develop your villain to be someone your readers can truly believe in.

This meeting will be held on March 12, 2022, in person at the Josephine Community Library, Grants Pass branch, located at 200 NE C St in Grants Pass. We will be offering virtual attendance through ZOOM for those unable to attend in person. We will have a meet and greet time from 10-10:15 am, followed by the workshop presentation from 10:15-11:15 am. We’ll do a wrap-up with announcements following the presentation, ending at 11:30 am. All middle school and high school students, regardless of where you live, are welcome!

It’s Online or In-Person!
