Corvallis: Open Mic Reading
May 22 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Willamette Writers Corvallis Presents
Open Mic Reading
Join us in person only from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 22 for our Spring Open Mic Reading. Does the audience sigh? Do they gasp? Do they laugh outright? Does the page read smoothly for you? In other words, does your writing bring the audience into your experience successfully? Read for applause and explore the effectiveness of your creation. Or join us to listen and enjoy. All genres are welcome but readings should be suitable for mixed audiences.
The meeting will be in the Oak Room at the Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave. Doors open at 6:15 PM. The meeting begins at 6:30. The meeting is free and open to all. Masks are encouraged.
Sign up to read at the door. Each reader has 5 minutes (700 – 800 words for prose) which includes any set-up or side conversations with the audience. The number of readers will be limited to fit the time.
