Long-time Board Leader Featured in New Anthology

Herbert W. Piekow, who served on the board of Willamette Writers for many years, is among the contributors to the newly released anthology of personal essays and poetry exploring contemporary funeral and mourning rituals and practices, What Remains: The Many Ways We Say Goodbye.

Piekow, who now lives in Guadalajara, Mexico, notes that he began his writing career in seventh grade. Since, he has written for magazines and newspapers, and was a columnist and content editor for monthly publications both in the United States and in Mexico, winning awards for news, content, style, and writing.

What Remains was released last month.
