After a half century of supporting aspiring and published writers, it’s time to party!
Join Willamette Writers on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 at 7:00 PM for our 50th Anniversary Gala.
We’ll have a “moveable feast” of Portland-style cuisine with opportunities to mingle and carouse with our honorees, including guest of honor and winner of this year’s Willamette Writers’ Lifetime Achievement Award, the literary legend Tom Robbins.
Portland’s Latin Jazz band Pérola will provide the music, featuring the smooth and sultry voice of Kitty Lambkins. While Kitt is considered one of the finest tango singers in Portland (known worldwide for its vibrant tango community), her band achieves its unique sound by blending swing, blues, tango, flamenco, and classical styles into their jazz.
We’ll have fun and games, door prizes, a festival buffet and literary libations.
