About your Corvallis Chapter
The Corvallis Chapter of Willamette Writers on the River is an open, caring, and supportive community of writers. We meet from 3-4:30PM Pacific monthly on Sundays (except July, August, and December) at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. Our meetings are free and open to the public. We invite authors and industry professionals to speak on writing topics, and we share our work at open mics and critiques. Anyone is welcome to join our community to develop their craft and expand their writing careers.
The Corvallis Chapter is run by Chapter Chairs Debbie Mourey and Lisa Burchett.

Debbie Mourey (she/her) describes herself as reluctant poet and lover of all things words. She has a library science degree and has worked in the corporate, non-profit and startup worlds, as well as her own start-up.

Lisa Burchett (she/her) is reader of psychological thrillers, a writer of whatever pops into her brain (from essays and blogs to women’s fiction), and a mental health and empowerment coach. When she’s not writing, blogging or coaching, you’ll probably find her at the nearest beach with her nose in a book, pretending she’s not overdue on finishing her own novel.
