Master Class: Fantastic Flash Fiction

Thursday, August 1, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Please join us for this Master Class with Tina Connolly and Jenn Reese.

Flash fiction is great for many reasons. These very short stories (generally under 1000 words) give you freedom to experiment and play on a small canvas. Maybe you want to try an unusual form—like a story in the form of a text exchange or Craigslist post—or you want to really capture a single emotion or moment of change. Flash stories are perfect for that; they’re quick to write, quick to revise, and quick to read! In this workshop, we’ll study examples of great flash fiction and discuss why they work, and we’ll use a variety of prompts to get you started on your own mini stories. Writers of all levels and literary genres are welcome to join and experiment with us.

This class is generously funded by a grant from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

Master classes are small, focused workshops, limited to 15 writers, and presented by industry professionals. This Master Class is five hours long, and includes lunch. You must register to attend Master Classes at an additional cost. Please register here.
