Sometimes drip coffee can use a shot of espresso. How can short stories and novels benefit from the concentrated, distilled nature of poetry? Poet Armin Tolentino will share ideas for how prose writers can utilize elements of poetic craft to sharpen imagery, shape the work’s sonic atmosphere, and inspire moments of surprise and momentum for the reader.

Armin Tolentino earned his MFA at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. His poetry has appeared in Common Knowledge, Arsenic Lobster, Hyphen Magazine, and The Raven Chronicles. His debut poetry collection, We Meant To Bring It Home Alive, was published by Alternating Current Press in 2019.
