Vancouver Online: Using Poetry to Heighten Your Prose
November 16, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Using Poetry to Heighten Your Prose with Armin Tolentino
Is this a muffin or a cupcake? Poetry and fiction are both subject to the same conundrum of taxonomy. But if you’re writing short stories or novels, are you considering what techniques and ingredients in the recipes of poetry can help make your work shine? Poet Armin Tolentino will share ideas for how elements more commonly associated with the craft of poetry can be utilized by prose writers to sharpen imagery, shape the work’s sonic atmosphere, and inspire moments of surprise and momentum for the reader.
