Central Point: Word Alchemy with Tex Thomson

June 2, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Word Alchemy at Southern Oregon Willamette Writers

In this class, we’ll study the art of adapting your writing style to suit any purpose, refining each page and paragraph. This is a fast, fun, fearless exploration of the science behind good word choice, sound sentence construction, and the invisible artistry that authors, advertisers, songwriters, and poets use to make you fall in love with their words.

Then in the afternoon it’s all about improving any single given page of your work, regardless of what you’re writing. We’ll go in depth using worksheets and information gathered in the morning session to fine tune every line. This session is ideal writers of any skill level. Be it beginners learning what to strive for, or more experienced writers finding why their “good stuff” is good, and how to make their work even better.

Morning is from 10-12 and is $10 for guests. Afternoon is 1:30-3:30PM. Afternoon is $25 for members, $30 for guests or $35 for the whole day.
