Shiny Dialogue with Kate Ristau
February 15, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Event Navigation
Writers always tell new writers to sit down in a coffeeshop, listen to how people really talk, and write down what they say. It will make your dialogue more realistic, right? But dialogue is more than the words you hear. If you want to write dialogue that shines, you have a lot more work to do. Join us Monday, February 15th at 6:30 PM to dig down into your manuscript. We’ll work through some tips and tricks to create dialogue that shines (whether it’s in a coffeeshop or on a mountaintop). See you there!

About the Speaker:
Kate Ristau is the author of the middle grade series, “Clockbreakers,” and the young adult series, “Shadow Girl.”
You can read her essays in The New York Times and The Washington Post. In her ideal world, magic and myth combine to create memorable stories with unforgettable characters.
Until she finds that world, she’ll live in a house in Oregon, where they found a sword behind the water heater and fairies in the backyard.
