Eugene Workshop: Self-Publishing on Amazon for Authors with James Stegall

December 2 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This in-depth workshop with Amazon Best-Selling author James Stegall will cover the latest proven methods in publishing on the world’s biggest e-book market.

According to Authorearnings.com, in 2016 Amazon accounted for more than 80% of U.S. ebook sales. However, for authors and small publishers, Amazon often represents a great unknown of changing payouts, mysterious algorithms, and fluctuating visibility.

Authors today have more opportunities to reach audiences, as well as more flexibility in how they publish their work than they ever have before. However, if authors want to create income from their work, the market has specific requirements authors shouldn’t ignore. Whether you’re new to publishing on Amazon or several books in, it’s important to use the right tools and resources to make data-driven decisions to target readers and increase sales.

This three-hour workshop will cover changes in online publishing driven by Amazon and their Kindle e-readers. The class will help students understand the new markets, including Kindle Unlimited, the pre-order system and explain how to publish in the best categories for their work. Our presenter will cover audience building and how newsletters, author websites and social media can help authors stabilize their marketing in this rapidly changing environment. Learn some of the bestselling Amazon categories and discover why some books sell while others don’t.
