Young Willamette Writers: Finish That Novel! – with Kim Johnson

March 6 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Serious about publishing a novel but find yourself held down by writer’s block, motivation, limited time, feeling stuck, or starting new stories but not finishing them? This workshop will provide tips and tricks to finish that novel using the KISS method. Will also leave time for attendees to share what’s blocking them and create a 90 day plan of writing habits to bring to your next project.

About the Speaker:

KIM JOHNSON held leadership positions in social justice organizations as a teen and in college. She’s now an interim vice provost at the University of Oregon. THIS IS MY AMERICA is a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association 2021 award winner and a top ten YALSA selection for Best Fiction for Young Adults. This Is My America is her bestselling debut novel and explores racial injustice against innocent Black men who are criminally sentenced and the families left behind to pick up the pieces. She holds degrees from the University of Oregon and the University of Maryland, College Park.
