A serious illness has brought about a program change for this month's Willamette Writers on the River (WWotR) meeting. This Monday Orit Ofri will present on Author Platform instead of Jana Zvibleman, our scheduled speaker, who is in a Portland hospital.
Just this morning we learned that Jana Zvibleman, our scheduled speaker for this coming Monday’s meeting, is in a Portland hospital. We wish her well and hope for a good outcome. Meanwhile, we have scheduled another presentation for this Monday, November 17, which will be held at the usual time and place (details below).
“Putting a Strategy Behind Your Author Platform”
by Orit Ofri
The concept of the author platform can be overwhelming and confusing, especially for fiction writers, poets, and memoirists.
We’ll begin with the most basic questions: What is an author platform, and what it can do for you? Orit will use examples to bring the concept to life. We’ll then move from the general to the specific — from the idea to forming your author platform strategy.
There are many flavors of author platforms, many ways to do it right. While having all these options can be great for our creative spirits it can be overwhelming and make it harder to find our path. In the end, what your author platform will look like depends on your goals, your skills, your writing, who you are, who your readers are, what you are willing to put in, and so on.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but this presentation should help remove some of the confusion and anxiety and make it easier to find the path to an author platform that is right for you.
Orit Ofri helps writers, professionals, and small businesses get started and grow their online presence by discovering the strategy that fits them, their audience, and their market.
