Darrel Alejandro Holnes to Read his Poetry at LBCC’s Hypefest on April 16

Here’s an invitation to an event coming up on the campus of LBCC, shared with WotR by Timothy Black, Faculty Adviser for Linn-Benton Community College’s Gay-Straight Alliance.

LBCC’s GSA, in conjunction with an English Endowment grant, is flying Darrel Alejandro Holnes, a very successful queer poet/playwright to Oregon, and he will be reading his poetry during LBCC’s Hypefest, April 16, 2014.

Darrel is a writer and producer. He and his work have appeared in Callaloo, The Caribbean Writer, the Best American Poetry blog, the Kennedy Center for the Arts College Theater Festival, TIME Magazine, and elsewhere. He is a Cave Canem and Bread Loaf fellow with degrees in creative writing from the University of Michigan and the University of Houston. He currently teaches at Rutgers University and resides in New York, NY. Follow him on twitter @daholnes.

His reading will be in the Forum, and will take place at noon. Please don’t hesitate to contact Timothy Black at LBCC, with any questions you may have regarding this unique opportunity.
