Fiona Kenshole

Fiona loves the midwifery of being an agent—from getting a writer’s debut published to doing the movie deal. At Transatlantic, she sells books to publishers all over the world, working with co-agents in 28 countries to sell worldwide rights. She specializes in children’s and YA, from picture books to older teenage.

Before joining Transatlantic, she was VP of Development Acquisition at Laika, working on the Oscar-nominated THE BOXTROLLS. Previously she published authors including Michael Bond (Paddington Bear), P.L Travers (Mary Poppins), and the Laureate Michael Morpurgo (War Horse), and was UK editor for Beverley Cleary, Lois Lowry, Bruce Coville, Gary Paulsen, and Cynthia Voigt.

Fiona was nominated for “Editor of the Year” at the British Book Awards. Her recent successes include Vicki Grant’s YA rom-com 36 QUESTIONS THAT CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT YOU (Running Press), which sold in 22 languages and is optioned for TV, and Rosanne Parry’s middle-grade A WOLF CALLED WANDER (Greenwillow) which has sold in 7 languages pre-publication.

Critique Preferences: Middle grade (especially funny stories and real children in magical worlds); feelgood YA, especially romcoms.
