Writing From the Senses
As writers, we have a tendency to live inside our heads. We often forget there is a rich, sensorial world around us, ripe with potential inspiration. When we open up our senses, we open up the scope of our writing, and our words become more visceral and vibrant. This generative workshop is for all writers of any genre who wish to deepen and enliven their work.
Gayle Brandeis is the author of the memoir The Art of Misdiagnosis: Surviving My Mother’s Suicide, The Selfless Bliss of the Body: Poems, Fruitflesh: Seeds of Inspiration for Women Who Write, and several novels, including The Book of Dead Birds, winner of the Bellwether Prize for Fiction.
