The Protagonist’s Journey Part 2: The Family of Characters
After having established a strong foundation of understanding the central role of the Protagonist in a story in our first session, we’ll immerse ourselves in the five character archetypes common to most movies and TV series: Protagonist, Nemesis, Attractor, Mentor, Trickster. Scott Myers will discuss how each character is tied to the Protagonist in both the Physical and Psychological realms, and how writers can create a family of characters each tied to and servicing the Protagonist’s metamorphosis journey.
Scott has written over thirty commissioned studio and TV projects including the movies K-9, Alaska, and Trojan War. He hosts Go Into The Story, screenwriting blog of the Black List, and teaches at the DePaul University School of Cinematic Arts.
