Story 202: Essential Criteria of the Writing Process

Date:
Saturday, August 5
Time:
8:00 am - 9:30 am
St. Helen’s B

Perhaps nothing is as eternally debated among writers as the story development process. The journey from the first spark of story inspiration to the blank page, and then along the path toward a finished, highly functional draft, is both in turn arduous and blissful, with deep potholes and creative elevators lurking along the way. This workshop is not about labeling any process as right or wrong or even better or worse; but rather, the goal is to cull out the essential focuses and opportunities within any writing process, thus empowering writers to evaluate their efficiency in context to a resultant effectiveness, while understanding the trade-offs between the two.
