Cashing In on Kid Lit: An Intro to Writing for Children

The youth literature market is broad, diverse, and ever changing. In this workshop. We’ll look at the market from birth to teens and discuss the training, preparation, professional expectations, and common career trajectory of an author who writes for kids. There will be plenty of time for discussion, so bring your questions!



Instructor

Rosanne Parry

Rosanne Parry is the author of six middle grade novels. The most recent are Last of the Name and A Wolf Called Wander, published by Learner and Harper Collins. Rosanne is a part-time bookseller at Annie Blooms, and is the captain of the League of Exceptional Writers, a free mentoring workshop for young avid readers and writers, sponsored by the Oregon SCBWI and Powells Bookstore. She writes in a treehouse in her backyard.
