Abracadabra Writing Magic and Fortune Telling!

Date:
Friday, August 4
Time:
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Garden B

Magic is the secret ingredient that elevates fantasy from all other genres. In the hands of evil, magic sends chills down our spines. In the hand of good, magic delights us with wonders. As readers we can’t get enough of magic, but as writers we must be careful not to be swept away by our own imaginations. Learn the three rules of writing believable magic. Gain insights into magical systems and learn the importance of limits. This workshop will also discuss fortune telling, a uniquely delicious element of magic that can crossover into all other genres, from horror and historical fiction to non-fiction (memoir). Learn the secrets of wands, wizards and mystics, and add this wondrous element to your writing.
