Using examples from bestselling novels, Susan will show you how these authors used emotion to create a powerful connection between their characters and the reader. Learn:

Afternoon Workshop: “Diving Deep II: Putting Emotion in Your Fiction”

1:30 – 3:30 p.m. $25.00 for members, $30.00 for guests ($35 for whole day)

Bring a 1 to 10 page scene from your work-in-progress that includes the main character. This scene should be particularly important to your story. Susan will show you practical ways to deepen the emotional content of that scene. Learn:

• Tried and tested methods to layer emotion
• How to surprise a reader
• How to create an emotion checklist you can use in every scene
