Newport: “Purifying the Poem” with A. Molotkov
May 21 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Poet A. Molotkov, author of The Catalog of Broken Things, will discuss “Purifying the Poem” at the May 21 meeting of Willamette Writers Coast Chapter. The workshop takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Newport Library.
Purifying the Poem: Poetry Workshop
During this free workshop, Molotov will discuss why poetry is (or is not) relevant and important for prose writers. Participants will study contemporary poems to analyze how effective and economical use of language helps the poet’s goals.
Poets and prose writers are invited to bring copies of their own short works to share and study how their language or logic can be optimized. There will also be time for writing.
